  5. Huge, Heavy Diaper bag...Am I doing something wrong?

    August 31, 2010, 6:54 am
My previous lightweight stroller used to have a large shopping basket on the bottom which I used to be able to fit my diaper bag into without much trouble. It broke, and we are going to have to replace it with a stroller with a smaller basket which my diaper bag doesn't really fit into. I can't hang it off of the handles or the stroller will tip. I carry around 4 extra diapers, 1-2 changes of clothes, an extra bib or 2, a washcloth, a receiving blanket, around 3 bottles with premeasured formula, 1-2 bottled waters to make his formula with, a changing pad, a pack of wipes, some tissues, my wallet, cell phone and keys (because I don't carry a purse separate), and a few emergency supplies like Tylenol and bandaids. Am I carrying too much? I feel like I need to be prepared for any eventuality. Does anyone else have this problem? My son is 7 months. and yes he is my first. I keep his bag set and don't really change it based on where I'm going except for the amount of bottles in it. I find this easiest, and don't really have the time to adjust it all the time.
